9am
On the first Sunday of each month we hold a 30-minute service of Holy Communion
in the Silver Birch lounge. This is a traditional service using the Methodist Worship
Book, with a short reflection and two hymns. Around twenty people come, and it is
very much valued by this small congregation. Afterwards there is breakfast in the
hall. If you haven’t been before, but this sounds like your sort of thing, do come along
– you will be warmly welcomed.
10.30am
This is a service for all ages which aims to include traditional and modern music.
We have a congregation of around a hundred each week, with a lively and inclusive
vibe.
We always sing at least one traditional hymn, accompanied by one of our excellent
organists. We also have a talented worship band and a wide range of contemporary
worship songs.
There are junior church groups for all ages, and an activity area in the church for
babies and toddlers with their families.
We like to celebrate the lives and interests of members of our congregation with a
regular ‘Christchurch Community Moment’.
We often include drama and puppets as a way of engaging with the theme of the
service.
On the first Sunday of each month we share Holy Communion – everyone is welcome.
After the service there are refreshments in the hall, and an opportunity to chat and
get to know new people.
